The Postfecht interview by Aljamain Sterling in UFC Shanghai has caused a commotion.
Sterling was one of the biggest names that could be seen on Saturday's UFC Fight Night in China, because the leading promotion of MMA was staged in the country in the country for the first time in 2025.
Before Johnny Walker Zhang Mingyang eliminated in the main event to send the local fans to home unhappy, Sterling Brian Ortega defeated in their five -round competition, which became a catch weight in late notification due to the former featherweight Challenger's weight struggle.
'Funk Master' was largely dominant in the indoor stage of Shanghai and won all five rounds in every score card to return to winning ways. And although he is not yet back on a winning series, that Sterling did not stop to courageously calling a title shot.
Fans conclude the title of Aljamain Sterling after UFC Shanghai
During his Octagon interview, the former Bantam weight champion called for a chance at Alexander Volkanovski. After Volkanovski beat Diego Lopes on UFC 314 last April to become a double champion, the Australian is hunting for the first challenger of his second -year government.
Given the loss of Sterling against Movsar Evloev at the end of last year, his name seemed to be out of the discussion to Saturday's comments. The fan reaction would suggest that not much expects that Dana White or the UFC will entertain his plea …
“If Sterling wants a title fight in his new weight class, this is not how you do it.”
“Aljamain Sterling really thinks that Dana White will give a title fight vs. Volkanovski after that clown show against a zombie Ortega.”
“He is literally on a 1 fight win -streak. Murphy must be the next one when there is justice in the world.”
“A chance of 0%.”
“Yes, Aljamain Sterling does not get a title shot of that performance. He can fight against the winner of Diego Lopes/Jean Silva.”
“Aljo, I'm sorry, but Dana White would rather die than to give you a title of it.”
Sterling had a tumultuous relationship with the UFC Higher-ups, which seemed broken when he blamed a forced turning point shortly after he defeated Henry Cejudo about his title loss against Sean O'Malley in August 2022.

But Sterling was not without any support from the MMA community.
“Sterling deserves the title shot much more than Murphy, just saying. There is also more for the inheritance in that matchup.”
“Knowing what he experienced during the Vechtweek, I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen.”
“People was a good callout. Sterling certainly deserved another title shot.”
The expected next challenger of Alexander Volkanovski responded to Aljamain Sterling's plea
It is clear on which side of the Lerone Murphy debate falls.
Murphy set out his claim with a UFC 319 knockout who attracted the attention of Volkanovski. The Australian pointed to the Englishman as his likely next challenger, and 'The Miracle' does not seem to be threatened after the performance of Sterling.
“Lol,” Murphy posted on X.
A rotating elbow that Aaron Pico brought in Chicago to Chicago in Chicago extended the unbeaten record from Murphy to 17-0-1. It also put an end to Murphy's Ko -Drogte who approached for four years.
