Arsenal finally obtained the signing of Ebereechi Eze on Saturday after he had defeated Tottenham against his signature, but Mikel Arteta confirmed that it was actually the player himself who developed the move
Arsenal Baas Mikel Arteta has confirmed messages that Ebereechi Eze called him to develop a move to Arsenal instead of Tottenham and said it “showed how much he wanted to come”.
The enormous U-turn of Eze was the story of the week when he looked in to join Arsenal's Rivals Tottenham after the outfit of Thomas Frank corresponded to Crystal Palace for the English star.
But Arsenal entered the race dramatically at the last minute and pulled out the rug from Onder Spurs, because Eze always preferred a move to the Emirates as a fan of a boy's year of boy.
Arteta, however, claimed that Eze was in fact the one who insisted on a move to Arsenal by calling him personally to ask to join the team.
Speaking after the 5-0 on his side of Leeds, Arteta was asked about the rumors that Eze called him and answered: “That shows how much he wanted to come.
“It is sometimes very different because you want to be very open and transparent with the players, because they have to make decisions in their career, but I am very happy to have him. I can see how much it means to him and his whole family.”
Spurs had established their hope for Eze after a long -term injury by James Maddison had left them behind without a recognized No. 10 and the club will now move their focus elsewhere.
Eze broke his silence along the way while he wrote a sincere message to Paleis fans who thank them for helping his dream to play in the Premier League.
“Five years, man. Crazy. It feels like yesterday I walked through the doors that participated in QPR. The day you gave me the chance to realize my dream to play in the Premier League, for the biggest club of South London. You showed me all, the way you have supported me all, what things are for time.
“Wembley, man. That whole journey. Words are not enough to describe what we have experienced that day, so I am not a Gunna, but what I will say is that God has done something for us that will connect us for generations. The most special day of my career because God gave us what nobody thought for us!
“So after all this, everything I really want to say is thank you. Thank you for believing in me, thank you for giving me a chance, and thank you for the shared love that lasts a lifetime. The palace. God bless, ebz.”
Eze's first chance to play for Arsenal comes in a huge game for Arsenal while they travel to Title Rivals Liverpool next Sunday.
