Real Madrid returned from Bergamo happy with their win over Atalanta in the Champions League, a win that is likely to secure their place in the knockout stages beyond doubt. But one of Real Madrid's stars may be a little less comfortable.
It was announced that manager Carlo Ancelotti has finally found the right formula for the Real Madrid team, with Jude Bellingham behind Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe. Another headline was that it was the first time that Bellingham, Mbappe and Vinicius were on the scoresheet together, the clear trident of stars. Then of course Rodrygo Goes, who replaced Mbappé after his injury, is left out in the cold.
That feeling was confirmed on Thursday by Cadena SER, who reported that Rodrygo Goes no longer has the support of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. Previously, Rodrygo was always Perez's favourite, considered something of a golden child, and as such he has always been given plenty of opportunities to prove himself.
But with his form not meeting expectations in 2024, the Spanish radio station explained that “he must take a step forward to avoid problems in the future.”
