Former Manchester United star Scott McTominay reported this weekend Rasmus Hojlund in an attempt to convince the rush to sign for Napoli.
Hojlund has endured a frustrating time at United since he was in 2023 and was able to leave Old Trafford before the closure of the transfer window.
The 22-year-old was not included in the MatchDay team for the first two Premier League matches of United of the campaign.
In total he scored 26 goals in 95 performances for United in all competitions.
Hojlund is strongly connected to a movement away from United, with the signing of Benjamin Sesko who pushes him further through the pecking order in the club, while Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo also joined this summer.
Denmark International Hojlund is also linked to AC Milan, but Napoli seems like a more likely destination.
Hojlund and McTominay played 34 games for United together. McTominay offered Hojlund an assist to score against Copenhagen in the Champions League in 2023.
According to Corriere Dello Sport, Napoli is open to signing Hojlund with an obligation to buy instead of an option.
The report suggests that United can be persuaded by a loan agreement of € 5 million (£ 4.3 million) with a mandatory purchase option for an additional € 40 million (£ 34.5 million).
MCTominay signed for Napoli last year and helped the club to win the Serie A title last season, because he scored 12 goals in 34 league games.
On Saturday, McTominay opened his account for this season when he found it against Sassuolo.
There have been worries about whether Napoli could afford the wages of Hojlund, since he is reportedly demanding around € 6.5 million (£ 5 million) per year.
Napoli is interested in Hojlund after an injury to the former United Striker Romelu Lukaku.
