Kylian Mbappé injury will keep him on the sidelines, tests show

The Real Madrid man suffered another muscle injury in the Champions League in midweek, putting his participation in the Intercontinental Cup in doubt.

Real Madrid appear to be without Kylian Mbappé for this weekend's trip to Rayo Vallecano and his involvement in the Intercontinental Cup this month is also in doubt.

The Frenchman was substituted in the 35th minute of Madrid's 3-2 Champions League win over Atalanta on Tuesday. Mbappé opened the scoring for Carlo Ancelotti's side, but was forced off before half-time due to another muscle problem.

AS in Madrid reports that a thigh injury has been diagnosed in a subsequent test and that Mbappe is expected to be out for ten days. Real Madrid will play the final of the Intercontinental Cup on December 18 against Pachuca from Mesico or Al Ahly from Egypt.
