Manchester United fans expressed their concern about the future of Kobbie Mainoo in the club after images showed that the midfielder looked in the back after their 1-1 draw against Fulham.
Mainoo was left on the couch for the second consecutive game of Ruben Amorim, because the Red Devils do not claim their first victory of the campaign.
Amorim had opted for a midfield pairs of Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes to start the game, with Mason Mount declining when the first was pulled out for forward Benjamin Sesko when the game remained aimless.
Manuel Ugarte was raised for Mount after Man United took the lead through his own goal of Rodrigo Muniz.
After Emile Smith-Rowe equalized for Fulham in the 73rd minute, Amorim still chose the introduction of Mainoo.
In his last changes, Harry Maguire and Ayden Heaven saw for defense, to replace Luke Shaw and Leny Yoro.
Images are shared about Mainoo's reaction after the last whistle in Craven Cottage after the disappointing draw of Man United.
The clip showed Mainoo at the squat on the field that appeared depressed, with the English international being briefly shown that the traveling fans of Man United were welcomed.
Fans have spoken concern about Mainoo's depressed reaction and his lack of playing time under Amorim can be a prelude to the academy product that the club leaves before the end of the transfer window.
“He goes 100%, look at him,” claimed a fan, with a different addition “he is deeply sad.”
“We can't let Mainoo leave either,” said a third, with a fourth comment “I just pray that we don't lose any mainoo.”
However, another fan wrote 'Stop creating unnecessary negative atmosphere. If he knows he doesn't play, he must ask to leave. He is not the first player to be on bench and he will not be the last. '
So far, Mainoo has only started 15 of Amorim's 44 matches and are the victim of the head coach's preference to combine an attacking midfielder alongside a defensive partner in his system.
Amorim revealed post-match that the 20-year-old is in competition with Man United Captain Fernandes for a place in the starting line-up.
'Mainoo is fighting for his position at Bruno. I have changed two midfielders. I left Mason Mount there because we wanted to score a goal and when I changed, I felt that the team needed a midfielder, “he said.
“So he has to fight for his position at Bruno. He is currently fighting Bruno for the position in training. '
Man United Legend Gary Neville has admitted his concern about Mainoo, which suggests that he seems to be the fourth choice of Amorim.
“They now have to do a piece of company at the center of midfield,” he said on the podcast of Gary Neville.
'I thought Mainoo could get up and that person could be, but it is quite clear that Ruben Amorim is not currently in him.
“He starts with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes, he then puts Mason back there and he brings Ugarte for him.
“That tells you that he is almost the fourth choice.”
