Real Madrid can't seem to catch a break this season when it comes to injuries. Los Blancos have suffered 27 injuries in 23 games so far this season, and the latest to be affected is Kylian Mbappe.
The French attacker had to withdraw after half an hour against Atalanta on Tuesday, after opening the score in Bergamo. Manager Carlo Ancelotti said he did not believe the injury was serious, but following tests on Thursday it was confirmed by the club that he has a muscle injury. Diario AS say he will miss around ten days, which would keep him out of the games against Rayo Vallecano, the Intercontinental Cup final and their final game of the year, Sevilla. However, the Madrid daily has noted that he has not been definitively ruled out of a final against Pachuca or Al-Ahly next Wednesday.
It wouldn't be the first time a Real Madrid player has made an early recovery, with Los Blancos tending to provide longer recovery times to ease the pressure on the player and medical staff. It is certain that he will miss their trip to Vallecas on Saturday. The timing is particularly unfortunate, as Mbappe started to look like his old self against Atalanta.
