Juventus Kick Off Serie A Season with Win Over Parma as David Shines

Juventus left a third consecutive campaign with a new permanent manager at the helm, where Igor Tudor wants to bridge the gorge to champions Napoli.

The old lady was dominant here during the first half, but a lack of advanced edge in the last third undermined their attacking efforts. Debutant Jonathan David was in the middle of the action, but there was no precision to earn a garden with space.

The only strenuous work that was needed for Zion Suzuki came to the Parma goal when he tipped the header of Francisco Concukicao over the bar, none of the parties realistically threatened a realistic threat before the rest.

Parma offered very little for the break in an attacking sentence, but had the first big chance of the second period when Pontus Almqvist found space on the left and Mateo Pellegrino chose in the middle, only for his shot to be blocked by Gleison Bremer.

The hosts responded in kind and stacked on the pressure with a series of strikes from a distance. Federico Gatti and Kenan Yildiz missed the target before Conceicao saw an effort deflected against the post.

Just shy of the hour, however, Juve's pressure eventually said that David's cut was returned to home to open his report for the Bianconeri.

That marked the first time in four meetings that Juventus had opened the score, and only an impressive Rescue by Suzuki to deny Yildiz that they had doubled their lead.

Every idea that the hosts would see the victory comfortably seemed to have been banned when Andrea Cambiasso was sent away for a spicy wipe to the face of Mathias Lovik.

However, Juve went straight up on the other side and undoubtedly put the result, while replacement Dusan Vlahovic returned home from the cutback of Yildiz.

That brought the seal over a first victory in three meetings for Juventus, while the Carlos Cuesta condemned to beat in his first game that was in charge of Parma. Although there were some encouraging signs, it remained an alarming run in shape that may not be immediately fixed with Atalanta, their next opponent.
