While Roma's advertised, for StillaWay Forway Jadon Sancho by Manchester United seemed to have joined, Gian Piero Gasperini has stated that the English winger has never rejected an offer from the club.
Despite reports in the Italian press that suggested that Sancho had rejected Roma's approach, the head coach clarified that the Red Devils Outcast had not formally refused the Giallorossi proposal.
Roma has been busy on the transfer market this summer and are strengthening their forward line with attacking reinforcements, including the loan signs of Evan Ferguson and Leon Bailey.
The Serie A-Outfit provided a place in the Europa League after a fifth place in previous term, after he had missed Champions League football for the seventh consecutive season.
Gasperini confirmed the position of Sancho after the 1-0 win of Roma on Bologna: “Sancho never said no to Roma.
“There are eight days left. This is a good team anyway. As I said before, there is no end to the worst and the best.”
The comments from Gasperini came after Roma's football director, Frederic Massara, had previously claimed that the deal remained because of the player.
“At the moment it is only a suggestion, because it does not seem as if there are the right conditions and especially the motivation to continue these negotiations,” Massara said.
With the wing surplus of requirements at Old Trafford, it has been reported that various clubs are interested in hiring it.
