Henry reveals key area where he believes Isak is making mistake to force move

Thierry Henry has shared the most important area in which he believes that Alexander Isak is making a mistake in attempting the Newcastle striker to force a move to Liverpool.

The Swede has refused to train with the magpies in the hope of signing the side of Arne Slot in what has become one of the largest transfersagas of the summer window.

Isak, 25, was not in the Eddie Howe team for the second consecutive Premier League match when Liverpool came a 3-2 thriller at the top thanks to a 100th minute's winner of the 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha.

Former Arsenal -striker Henry gave his opinion about the situation of Isak while he appeared as an expert on Monday evening football for Sky Sports.

Henry, 48, said: 'If you have a player in this kind of situations in Newcastle where Isak wants to leave, it is because he is good that people are upset.

'If a player is playing badly and the club wants to leave him, I don't see anyone crying for the player.

'We never know the whole story, but I would only say you can't put yourself in a situation [as a player] Where you don't come to train.

When asked how the situation could be resolved, the Frenchman added: 'I think that for me in an ideal world, the best for everyone would be to leave.

'If [Isak] Realizes that he made a mistake in terms of what he did the dressing room, he can apologize, he can continue.

'[But] The best for me would be at the moment if he went, but [Isak] Must apologize if he wants a way back in the club. '

Newcastle wants Isak to return to training and plays in an attempt to force a move to Anfield. It is understood that a new contract would be part of discussions if Isak would commit to the club this season.

It has always been the preference of the club to keep Isak, and with the time in the transfer window is used up, they are determined to see him again in How's team. Sources believe that Monday's meeting is a step in the right direction.

Eddie Howe said that he was “not a party to talk to have happened,” but admits that his team has missed Isak in their opening two games, which brought only one point.

“The quality of Alex, I think he would have made a difference in the two games,” said Howe.

“But the team has functioned well, you can't wear anyone. It was a great achievement. The first half was very much our, high octane, front-foot football. The only thing that was missing were goals.

'The second half was really well performed by the players. I can't accuse them at all. They gave so much to the game. I am absolutely stripped that we have to notice it.

'We showed our Vechtgeest and put the distractions around us. We just want the results to be showed. '
