During his UFC career, Sean O'Malley has continuously signed comparisons with Conor McGregor.
When Sean O'Malley appeared on stage in the UFC, he was often compared to Conor McGregor because of his personality and the appearance of trust.
And when he won the UFC Bantamweight title on UFC 292 in 2023, he was generally considered the next big star in the sport.
Nevertheless, 'Sugah's' title line did not last very long and he was dethroned by Merab Dvalishvili on UFC 306, and then lost his rematch against him on UFC 316 earlier this year.

O'Malley blames the willing of Conor McGregor too much on recent downfall
During his career, O'Malley has always made it clear that he has looked for 'the notorious' Irishman because of his earlier performance in sport.
And the two have always had a mutual respect for each other, until last year when they became involved in a bizarre feud with each other, so that they went to each other on social media.
O'Malley searched for the former double champion most of his career, and made a recent recognition that wanted to be too much McGregor led to his fall in sport.
“100% (I used McGregor as a role model), the way he in fighting, trust, his confidence in saying what he thought would happen,” I'm going to hit this guy in round two, “I got a lot out of it,” O'Malley said the MMA lab.
“I had something like that:” Okay, I can be so confident, “I have the feeling that I had almost lost in a sense in which I wanted to be too much as a conor instead of being myself.
“I would say that the first Merab fight, it was my second title defense and I had something like that, I wanted this to be big, I didn't feel that it was big, I didn't feel that Merab was a big name, I had to force it, it was in the field of the atmosphere, I felt like I had to make something like that …
What is the next step for Sean O'Malley?
O'Malley is in a somewhat difficult position in the Bantamweight Division, because he has already lost twice from the current champion, making it very unlikely that he still earns a title shot while Dvalishvili is the champion.
Nevertheless, the 30-year-old believes that there are still fights for him to have in the division before he makes his planned switch to featherweight.
