Ilia Topuria vs Islam Makhachev is perhaps the biggest fight that the UFC could make at the moment, but a UFC legend does not agree.
After his knockout victory over Charles Oliveira at UFC 317 earlier this year, Ilia Topuria again showed why he is the biggest current star in the sport.
After they had moved to the lightweight division, fans hoped a potential super fight between 'El Matador' and Islam Makhachev, especially because the two have been fighting for a while.
And although that is generally considered the largest MMA fight that could currently be made, UFC legend Chael Sonnen is not even because he mentions what he thinks is a bigger fight in sport.

Chael Sonnen reveals which fight is larger than Topuria vs Makhachev
Although Makhachacthev's good weight debut is around the corner, he has previously suggested that he might have returned to 155 pounds to adopt 'El Matador'.
Sonen, however, explained why a fight between Topuria and the British competition Paddy Pimblett is larger than a fight against the Russian.
“Islam vs ilia is not this huge fight that people try to believe it is, it could be with a little time, I just share for you, those guys are a bit too close to the trees to see the forest,” said Sonnen in the recent episode of Good Guy/Bad Guy.
“Ilia Topuria vs Paddy 'The Baddy' does a larger gate than Ilia Topuria vs Islam, at the moment. You have put a belt around Islam and maybe we have another conversation,” Sonnen went on.
After the victory of Topuria in Oliveira, Pimblett was called by Joe Rogan in the cage and he and the Spaniard had an improvised face, which made UFC boss Dana White angry.
With 'The Baddy's' growing popularity, a title fight against Topuria would undoubtedly be a huge fight in the sport, but a fight between Topuria and Makhachev seems to be the more desirable fight between fans.
Pimblett recently rose the lightweight ranking
After his UFC 314 win at Michael Chandler, Pimblett was just in the top 10 in Rank Nine.
And with conversations with regard to a potential fight against Topuria, Pimblett was recently performed the ranking, even though he had not fought since April.
Fans believe that he could be the next title -seconder for 'El Matador', with the promotion pushing him the division.
