With the summer transfer window that closes quickly, Barcelona is in a precarious position. Rising Star Fermín López, only 22 years old, has received a seductive offer from Chelsea – reported with a value of $ 54 million (€ 50 million) – in addition to an important salary bump.
The London Club is serious, and although Barça has not yet received formal communication, they are well aware that the proposal is real and urgent.
Barça's position: Hold – unless the player wants to leave

In contrast to the departure of Martínez, which only freed his $ 15 million salary, the exit of Fermín would be a financial windfall. As a home -grown talent, the full $ 54 million would count as pure profit under the financial fair play rules of La Liga. That kind of cash injection would enable Barça to balance their books and unlock the spending rule of 1: 1 – which in essence give them the green light to register new signing sessions.
Chelsea knows this. That is why their strategy depends on the convincing of Fermín itself. Barcelona simply cannot match the Premier League club's offer – neither financially nor in terms of guaranteed playing time.

Fermín and his agents have given themselves two days to take what could be the most crucial decision of his career. While he previously declared his loyalty to Barça during the Joan Gamper Trophy festivities, the situation has shifted. The English range is not only lucrative – it is very tempting.
The minutes of Fermín are limited on the field. He did not play against Levante at all last week, and although he started against Mallorca, he was immersed during the break.
