Barcelona set Chelsea asking price to complete Fermin Lopez signing

Barcelona has mentioned their price for a deal for Fermin Lopez, amidst tires with a move to Chelsea this week. The 22-year-old is said to be considering an exit of the Blaugrana in the midst of doubts about his playing time and the chance to earn a considerably higher wage.

Reports in Spain say that Chelsea has made an offer of € 50 million for Fermin, while in England it is said that they are only considering an offer for him. The Spain International would have a considerable wage increase and the chance to earn € 15 million a year, a salary that would make him the third highest player in Barcelona.

According to MD, Barcelona is open to the deal, but will not do business for less than € 70 million for Lopez, who has a contract until 2029. They also say that Chelsea Lopez has given 48 hours to come to the movement, and he is currently on the Balaeric Islands while he has his mind, two days freedom of training.

This report is supported by Cadena Cope, who also claims that this would be the asking price of Barcelona. He currently earns € 6 million a year, which means that the supposed offer from Chelsea would be a wage increase of 150%.

In recent months, Barcelona has recommended Lopez in Europe, in a similar way as their approach to Marc Casado, and in earlier summers, Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araujo. They are still unable to register Gerard Martin, Wojciech Szczesny and Roenon Bardghji because of their problems with the salary limit, which continues to influence their transfer activities.

Their last major sale, and only large income because their salary issues became considerable after the global pandemic was the € 50 million for Ousmane Dembele, although it also cost them the opportunity to keep Lionel Messi. Manager Hansi Flick has made it clear that he wants to keep Fermin in his team.
