Dana White was able to grant each winner a contract in what must have been one of the easiest nights in the history of the Contender Series.
The jury members were not only necessary at any time, but the corners were only seen in one fight, because four of the five attacks ended in the first round Knock -out in the third episode of this year's Contender Series. The third round of Manoel Sousa from Cristian Perez was the only effort that came in round three.
White now has five new exciting talents on the UFC selection, including two undefeated finishers. Without events this weekend, the CEO now focuses its sights in next week's episode in which he hopes for similar action.
Dana White reports five new UFC hunters after stunning knocks -outs
The night started with undefeated Prospect Donte Johnson on recording Bellator veteran Darion Abbey, whose winning series was sufficient to overcome a relatively non-winding 7-4 record. Johnson had earned his contract within a minute with a cruel knockout.
Cristian Perez and Manoel Sousa were the following at lightweight and almost called the last bell after an exciting two rounds. Sousa, however, got the knockout he needed in the 13 minutes, making it an unfortunate night for Perez.
If Alik Lorenz wanted to earn a contract, or even wanted to win the battle last night, he would have to overcome no fewer than 11/1 chances against the undefeated Abdulrakhman Yakhyaev. He did not do that because the Turk moved to 7-0 within 30 seconds with a beautiful knee finish.
Marcio Barbosa was the next against Damon Wilson, and we almost saw the bell of the first round. But with seconds left on the clock, the Brazilian scored a right -wing hook that won his own contract.
Then Ryan Gandra needed a little less than three minutes in the main event to send Trent Miller. It meant a rare fifth contract from White and a night full of knockouts on top.
Dana White talks about new UFC signing sessions
Dana White was clearly impressed by what he saw of his charges when he had awarded all five contracts without hesitation. In the broadcast immediately afterwards pronounced, he explained how this would set the bar for the future weeks.
“I think you bring these children in and not every fight can be a barn burner,” White admitted. “But usually they are, I say it all the time; this is your one shot to show us who you are, I don't care what it says in your record or what you have done, show us who you are tonight.
'So tonight is an absolute perfect evening, they did that [seize the opportunity]. “
