Kobbie Mainoo could be set to leave Manchester United before the Transfer Deadline with England -midfielder frustrated by lack of playing time under Ruben Amorim
Not long ago, Kobbie Mainoo was seen as the jewel of the Academy of Manchester United, a midfielder with the Poise, Vision and Technical Range that many believed they could anchor the midfield of the club for the following decades. But as the summer transfer window approaches, Mainoo's Old Trafford Future is suddenly doubting.
Reports suggest that the 19-year-old is open to leave United because he is frustrated by reduced opportunities under Ruben Amorim, who thinks he should only fit into the position taken by Captain Bruno Fernandes. And with the holding of contract innovation and circling a large number of clubs, not only were the career of Mainoo in the coming days, but also for the planning of United's Midden Field for the coming years.
From United it is said that the Mainoo appreciates between € 40 million and € 75 million, but a seasonal loan with an option to buy is on the rise as the most likely path, especially if United wants to retain control over its long -term future.
Here are the leading contenders to land the English star.
Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid
Both giants in Madrid follow the situation according to reports in Spain. Real Madrid, looking for depth after injuries in midfield, view Mainoo as a player who could learn alongside Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga without the immediate pressure to be a starter – even if his excellent frustration at United is around a lack of opportunities. A loan with an option to buy at the Bernabeu would be the most logical for all parties.
Atletico Madrid offers a different attraction: Diego Simeone's side thrives on energy and tactical discipline and it would be fascinating to see him operating alongside colleague -international Conor Gallagher in the Wanda Metropolitano's machine room to be a guaranteed starter.
Chelsea
Chelsea, never linked to a talented young player who may be available, has followed Mainoo for months and is very interested. The characteristics of their rebuilding make Stamford Bridge a logical destination and the willingness of the club to support young players is clear – although Mainoo would have an important competition for a starting role in the start XI of Enzo Maresca. With United cautious to strengthen a direct rival, however, this step would require a considerable financial leverage.
Tottenham
Thomas Frank needs a tempo-based midfielder because of the seasonal injury of James Maddison and the own problems of Dejan Kulusevski. And while Joao Palhinha has been on loan for the campaign, it is easy to see how Mainoo would thrive under a coach like Frank. However, the same reservation applies as with Chelsea: United does not want to improve a rival to finish in the top four.
Brighton
The reputation of Albion for changing young talents in stars makes them an ideal destination for Mainoo to have a big impact and because Brighton is not an expected competitor for a Champions League place (despite the finishing places of last season), United may be more open to have it moved to the south coast.
Series A and beyond
There is also interest in Italy on the rise. The newest Tittle Tattle is that Inter Milan and Juventus admire his versatility, while Roma could guarantee more immediate opportunities in a team that wants to embrace the youth. Bayern Munich have also been associated, although the competition in Bavaria for minutes can be as heavy as Old Trafford and that seems like a much longer shot.
