Premier League clubs have established a new record this summer in one transfer star with more than £ 2.6 billion.
Arsenal's signing of Ebereechi Eze from Crystal Palace saw the previous record falling off the window with a week.
But how is the money spent? With the help of Netto edition figures, this week, between the lines in which clubs are reinforced this summer – and where they have become weaker.
The big expansion by Vooruit
Almost half of the £ 2.6 billion spent spent this summer. With no less than £ 1.4 billion, Premier League clubs played around £ 850 million more on forward players than on players in a different position, with defenders then at £ 547 million.
The figures emphasize the enormous value placed on attacking players, especially in a summer in which many of the top clubs of the Premier League want to add more firepower.
The most controversial movers are Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres and Joao Pedro. But with the Alexander Isak Saga that rumbled further, the total could rise even higher before the Transfer Deadline of Monday.
Netto expenditure, which factors receive money in the sale, adds another layer of insight and underlines the size of the investment of some elite parties of the Premier League.
Manchester United is top, after he has added Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha and Sesko for £ 207.5 million. Marcus Rashford has been loaned to Barcelona, but they still have to compensate for those expenses by permanently selling one of their existing options.
Arsenal does not go far behind them for Netto expenditure on Forward, where Eze Noni Madueke and Gyokees follows the club at a combined cost of £ 180.5 million before he has done sale.
Chelsea has also spent heavily, with Joao Pedro one of the four attacking signing sessions, but the sale of Madueke, Joao Felix and Armando Broja have helped to reduce their net spending to £ 55 million.
Although some clubs have strengthened their attacks, others have taken a hit – nothing more than Crystal Palace, whose front line £ 67.5 million is lighter after Eze's move to Arsenal.
In the meantime, West Ham has made a net profit of £ 55 million on attackers, after he has not yet replaced Mohammed Kudus, who has joined Spurs for £ 55 million, so that they had light in their front line.
Further investments may also be needed at Brighton, Brentford and Wolves, who are apparently weaker in attack, with negative net spending, who have lost Joao Pedro, Cunha and Mbeumo respectively.
Arsenal Top Midden Field Spowerers, Villa weakened?
Moving to midfield and, after the signing sessions of Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard and no sale, Arsenal comes from the top for Netto expenditure at £ 66 million when things stand.
Much of the focus is on the attack of Mikel Arteta after their investment this summer, but their midfield is also considerably strengthened, with Zubimendi going directly into the starting line-up after his £ 51 million arrival of Real Sociedad.
Everton and Sunderland are highest for net spending on midfielders. The Toffees have added Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Charly Alcaraz without losing anyone, while the newly promoted black cats and so on have drawn Le Fee, Granit Xhaka and Habib Diarra to compensate the sale of Jobe Bellingham to Borussia Dortmund.
Manchester United is one of the six clubs with a net spending on midfielders, although that could change for the deadline, with Kobbie Mainoo's future uncertain and Sky Sports Pundit Gary Neville who says they should strengthen the position as a priority.
Together with Chelsea, Aston Villa currently has a remarkable negative net spending on midfielders, due to the £ 43 million sale of Jacob Ramsey to Newcastle. The club still has to replace the 24-year-old, or bring bodies in midfield, leaving Unai Emery with fewer options than last season.
The defense of Bournemouth has been selected
Bournemouth stands out for Netto spending on defenders. After they lost three members of their first-choice four last season in Dean Huijsen, Illia Zabarnyi and Milos Kerkez for reimbursements worth a combined £ 144.5 million, they are in the win of £ 98 million.
Replacements have so far been recruited for lower costs, where Bafode Diakite connects in the middle of Lille for £ 35 million and left -back Adrien Truffert that comes from Rennes for £ 14.4 million. Their strong starts show that there is value in the market, as Bournemouth previously shown with Huijsen, Zabarnyi and Kerkez.
Andoni Iraola, however, will decline more defensively. They are still in a body in the middle of the back. But the club will strive to find the required quality and at the same time stay in a win.
It may seem hard to believe on the back of their 5-1 thrashing by Chelsea, and their subsequent 3-2 loss of wolves in the Carabao Cup, but the side to have strengthened their defense, in terms of net spending, is West Ham, who signed Jean-Clair Todibo for £ 35 million £ 19m.
Liverpool currently has the second highest net spending on defenders, in which Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Giovanni Leoni arrive after Real Madrid paid £ 10 million for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jarell Quansah left for Bayer Leverkusen for £ 35 million.
But their figure could rise further if they still add a center-ridge, with Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace still a possibility.
The goalkeeper of the Man City rearranges
Manchester City is the biggest net spending for keepers who have again signed James Trafford for £ 31 million so far, and there can be more activity because there is uncertainty about the future of Ederson in the middle of ties with Gianluigi Donnarumma.
By selling Trafford to his boys' club, Burnley is on the other side of the Netto expenditure at the table of keeper, where Martin Dubravka and Max Weiss arrive for much lower costs, which weakens them in the position on paper.
