Alejandro Garnacho transfer news: Chelsea agree £40m fee for Manchester United winger

Chelsea has agreed a fee of £ 40 million with Manchester United to sign Alejandro Garnacho.

The deal, which includes a sale of 10 percent, represents the fourth largest sales in the history of United after that of Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku and Angel di Maria and the biggest sale of a club ever from a graduated academy.

A compromise about the valuation of Garnacho had to be reached because United appreciated him at £ 50 million – which was more than Chelsea was willing to pay.

United has negotiated the reimbursement of a first Chelsea offer of £ 25 million and is assumed that it is a good, pragmatic deal that delivers their largest sales costs for five years. They also believe that it is a good solution for the player, who has strongly pushed to leave.

It is understanding that he leaves with the best wishes of United.

Garnacho rejected offers from other clubs because he wanted to move to Chelsea. The winger was told that he could leave at the end of last season and he is not training with the first team of Ruben Amorim.

Amorim: Talented Garnacho has not worked out

Speaking earlier this summer, United Baas Amorim said: “You can understand it and you can see that he is a real talented boy, and sometimes things don't work.

“You can't specifically explain what it is. But I have the feeling, I think it is clear that Garnacho wants another thing with a different leadership, and I can understand that. So I think it's not a problem.

“Sometimes you adjust to one man, you have the connection. Other times you want a new challenge, so we try to make up for everything for all parts. To the club, to the coach and the players. It's a natural thing in football.”
