Bruno Fernandes insists he and his Manchester United teammates have full confidence in Andre Onana after his mistake in the 2-1 Europa League win over Viktoria Plzen.
Rasmus Hjolund scored twice to secure all three points for the Red Devils in Thursday's match at the Doosan Arena, but not without some scares at first.
Goalkeeper Onana gave the home side the lead after 48 minutes when he passed straight to Pavel Sulc, who was on the heels of Matej Vydra to slot home.
United captain Fernandes said there was no blame on Onana, who many also believe was to blame for Nottingham Forest's second-place finish in last weekend's 3-2 defeat at Old Trafford.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Fernandes said: “We want to play from the back. Everyone knows we have to make the right decision.
“Andre missed the pass, but we shouldn't focus on that. It's not about Andre making a mistake, we're not looking at individuals here. It's about all the players involved and we have great belief in Andre.
“He knows he made a mistake, he's a smart boy, we don't have to tell him. He's going to help us when we play from the back. We trust his qualities on the ball. The most important thing is that we keep the ball had.” resilience and struggle to get back.
“It's something we've been doing for a long time. We know that the goalkeepers are good on the ball, that they can play.”
“Normally we do it. This time it didn't work, but in many cases it works. We trust André to keep doing what he thinks is best. Mistakes can happen, and when mistakes happen, goals can be scored. “

United have played six games under Ruben Amorim, winning three, losing two and drawing one, while two of the wins have come in the Europa League.
Hjolund said more time is needed before things get in order among the Portuguese.
“We still need more time. It's still very early. But it's about getting things sorted out – it's starting to get under our skin now,” he said.
“We still need a lot of practice, a lot of time. We don't have a lot of training, so it's all about practicing during the games. It sounds a bit strange, but it's the best way.”
