Kobbie Mainoo has told Manchester United that he wants to leave the club on loan before the transferline of Monday, according to reports.
Mainoo, 20, got restless at Old Trafford after being out of favor of Ruben Amorim manager.
According to athletics, this has now led the midfielder to inform the club that he wants to leave on loan to regularly play first team football.
The English International is said to have had a meeting with Club Big Wigen on Thursday.
And although Mainoo does not want to leave permanently, he believes that a loan movement would be better for developing his football career.
However, it is claimed that Man Utd has said to Mainoo that they will not punish his exit of his loan.
The Red Devils are supposed to appreciate his place in the team and expect that he will stay and fight for a starting role.
Mainoo is looking for a consistent playing time in an attempt to earn a place in the Thomas Tuchel World Championship team next summer.
The graduated Carrington graduated played in all except one of the matches of England at Euro 2024 under Gareth Southgate, but has not yet made the team under Tuchel.
Minutes are limited for the highly rated younger Under Amorim at United.
Mainoo was an unused replacement for the opening of the two Premier League matches of Man Utd this season.
While he played his first 90 minutes of the campaign in Amorim's rotated side that were humiliated by League Two Side Grimsby in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.
Teams linked to a switch for Mainoo were Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
United had previously been open to the sale of Mainoo permanent to raise money because of its graduate Academy status, which means that any transfer costs would be considered pure profit in financial fair play conditions.
Instead, the club is graduating £ 40 million in pure profit from another academy.
