Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was fired by Besiktas after the Turkish club was dumped from the qualification for the Conference League.
Solskjaer, 52, lasted seven months in Turkey after he was appointed in the role in January, his first position since losing his job as a man United Manager in November 2021.
Besiktas confirmed on Thursday in a short explanation that the United Legend was relieved of its duties. The decision came only a few hours after they were defeated by Ineos-ownership Lausanne-Sport in their play-off from the conference.
The Turkish outfit was completely beaten out of the European competition after losing 2-1 after a 1-0 home defeat.
The club announced the decision in a short statement of 39 words after a board meeting after the game.
“Our contract with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has ended after a decision made during the board meeting,” said Besiktas.
'After the meeting, our chairman, Serdal Adalı, thanked Solskjaer for his services so far. We present the respect to the public. '
The Norwegian enjoys the legendary status at United after his gaming career and won 91 of his 168 games as manager of the club, ending in second place in the Premier League and the Europa League final in 2021.
He was only fired for a few months from the European last defeat against Villareal after a bad start of the following season, even though he brought Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo to Old Trafford.
After taking a longer break of the game, Solskjaer made the surprise to Turkey over a year and a half deal until the summer of 2026 and stood up to have around £ 3 million from his contract.

He went to coaching after retirement and was most recently in charge of, for example, before his resignation earlier this year.
The German international is now a favorite for the Besiktasbaan, but it is unlikely that it will take over this Sunday for the fixed value of the club in Alanyaspor.
It is likely that the replacement of Solskjaer will be appointed during the upcoming international break, which will start after the round of this weekend.
