This summer Arsenal has more than £ 260 million splashed on new players for Mikel Arteta, but still focuses on more deals before the window closes on Monday
Arsenal is preparing for an early test of their Premier League title references when they go to Anfield on Sunday to be confronted with Liverpool, but they also have one eye on the summer transfer window.
The Gunners no longer have time to close more things, with the window closing on Monday evening. They have already spent about £ 260 million around Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Crithian Mosquera, Viktor Gyokeres and Ebereechi Eze, but more deals could be done.
The injuries to Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz can still be followed, while another defender is on the cards for Mikel Arteta. In the meantime, there is a need to balance the books with sales.
Here Mirror Football looks a look at the possible deals that can happen this weekend, with sports director Andrea Berta still busy.
Hincapie -Negotiations Kiwior Exit stop
Porto is reportedly not satisfied with Arsenal after the Noord -London club has brought the brakes on the exit of Jakub Kiwior. Kiwior is ready to leave for the Portuguese club for € 27 million (£ 23 million) and Porto had booked flights to beat him away on successive days – only to cancel them.
Arsenal wants to first sign Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen before they register for Kiwior to leave, according to O Jogo. As Mirror Football reported on Tuesday, Leverkusen plays hard ball about Hincapie, which is under contract until June 2029.
Leverkusen has already lost Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Granit Xhaka this summer and will not sell for less than Hincapie's £ 52 million release clause.
Palace comes up as Nelson option
Arsenal has wanted to discharge Nelson throughout the summer and have been frustrated so far, but it seems that they might make a breakthrough. Fulham had been talking to take the winger after he had spent there last season on loan, but nothing came about.
Now Crystal Palace is interested in signing the 25-year-old. Palace is looking for the market for players after losing Ebereechi Eze for £ 67.5 million and Nelson is one of their shortlist, with a potential £ 15 million deal on the maps.
Christos Tzolis of Club Brugge, however, is the best target of Oliver Glasner and Yeremy Pino will join the club from Villarreal to the club after a deal to £ 26 million. A deal for Leicester's Bilal El Khannouss went out after the need of the Foxes to sell was relaxed by the move from James Justin to Leeds.
Midfielder explored
According to the Daily Mail, the real Sociedad defender Jon Martin attracted the attention of Arsenal Scouts. Arsenal drew Zubimendi from the Spanish side this summer and Mikel Merino from there the year before, while Martin Odegaard also spent time in the Basque Country, so there is a clear link between the two clubs.
The 19-year-old is a fixed value for Spain Under-19S and played this summer for his country at the European Championship under 19. The 6ft 2 in defender is good in the air, but would be considered one for the future.
Arsenal has also associated with Girona's Arnau Martinez in recent days, so it seems that they have not stopped chasing defenders, despite the signing of Mosquera from Valencia.
