UFC star claims President Donald Trump asked Dana White to let him fight at White House

It seems that everyone wants to fight on the White House card of the UFC.

The UFC achieved national headlines on July 4, when President Donald Trump announced that he was in charge of a UFC event at the Witte Huis lawn.

UFC in the White House is a foregone conclusion for July 4, 2026, as part of the 250th birthday of the US, with the most important logistics of promotion planning.

Many UFC stars such as Jon Jones have already registered their interest to fight for President Trump. However, White said that he would not trust 'bones' to give a show of this size.

No surprise, controversial competition (and Jones' former roommate) Colby Covington is the newest hunter who has a campaign for the White House.

Colby Covington argues with Dana White for fighting the White House

Covington was the first UFC champion to be invited to the White House in 2018.

Covington received President Trump's call-up after his interim title victory at former champion Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC 225. The UFC Welterweight put his championship belt on the Trump desk and took a photo with the President in the Oval Office.

Covington spoke with Helen Yee about possible fighting on the map of the White House.

“There is nothing more I want for my career than to fight in the White House,” said Covington.

“I am the one who started to get MMA in politics and Donald Trump, in support of the Republican movement.

“So I feel that I deserve to fight there,” added the former interim title holder.

“In the end it is at the UFC, whatever they decide. But I now call my shot. Please, please, Dana, let me fight on the map of the White House.

“I know Trump asked you, Dana, to let me on that card of the White House. Please, Dana. Please …” Covington added.

Covington said his dream -opponent for that card would be the paddy Pimblett of England, who fights in the weight class below (lightweight).

“If it's not Paddy Pimblett …” Colby Covington calls potential fight

At this pace, Pimblett is a very, very unlikely opponent for Covington.

Covington has lost its last two fights at the then Champion Leon Edwards and Joaquin Buckley, while Pimblett is about to have a potential UFC title against Ilia Topuria. Pimblett is a perfect 7-0 in the UFC Lightweight Division.

Covington has not won since he defeated Jorge Masvidal in March 2022.

“Let's get it going, Paddy,” Covington Pimblett challenged to go to good weight.

“If I can't get Paddy, Gilbert Burns might be able to,” Covington suggested another fight.

Former UFC title Challenger Gilbert Burns has been calling Covington out for several years, but unfortunately there is no benefits.

Burns is directly under the #10-ranking Covington in the Welterweight Division. 'Durinho' is on a four-field, Skid loses some of the best welter weights in the world, including the current champion Jack della Maddalena, which he almost beat on UFC 299 last year.
