Conte was happy with the performance and ignored the impact of Udinese taking the lead.
“We shouldn't be confused by the result, we were 1-0 down, but that was a fluke because we controlled the game from start to finish. I didn't even see the incident leading to the penalty, but it's not like we changed much from one half to the other,” Conte told DAZN.
“We played with character and quality, we had chances in the first half that were not taken, we must continue on this path. I also said it after the defeat against Lazio: our team must play this kind of football, keep the ball, try to dominate the match, press high and not leave the initiative to the other team.
“Udinese are a very good team and I saw a strong reaction from my boys.”
He continued about David Neres' performance: “David has been training with us for a long time. Kvara and Politano were preferred, but I knew I had a strong player who has improved a lot in the last five months in every aspect, including physically and the way he helps the defense. He is a valuable option on both the right and left.
“We don't just train 11 players during the week, we train 22 so that if someone misses, they all know what plan to follow. Neres works hard, has quality and now has even more of a chance to show what he can do during Kvara's injury.”
