‘Excellent salvaging work’: Cucurella stars in hilarious advert after his slips

CHELSEA fans have gone into hysterics after Marc Cucurella 'saved' his relationship with Puma in a new advert.

The left-back's boots made headlines during the Blues' 4-3 win over Tottenham on Sunday.

He suffered two disastrous moments in the derby, slipping in the build-up to both Spurs goals in the opening 10 minutes before Chelsea staged a stunning comeback.

A smoking Cucurella stormed across the field after Dejan Kulusevski made it 2-0 and changed boots.

After the match, the Spaniard posted a photo of his pair of Puma Future 8s in the trash, alongside the caption: “Sorry Blues.”

The boots would be released by the sportswear brand the next day.

And they were even engraved with the message: “This boot may have leaked. We're used to it. Don't worry. Stay tuned.”

It looked like a marketing own goal, but Puma responded brilliantly.

In a new social media ad, Cucurella wears the boots next to a wet floor warning sign.

Puma captioned the image: “It's not how you slip, it's how you bounce back.”

The post also sees the wet floor sign placed for a purpose, at the entrance to a Puma store, at a bus stop and on a street in West London.

Fans thought it was brilliant, with one saying: “Excellent salvage work.”

Another said: “Best marketing ever.”

A third wrote: “What a comeback from Puma.”

Chelsea players also saw the funny side as Marc Guiu and Enzo Fernandez commented laughing emojis.
