Mike Tyson admits he doesn't remember much about his fight against Jake Paul
After the fight, 'Iron Mike' revealed he almost died earlier this year and required eight blood transfusions after a stomach ulcer flared up.
With that, the 58-year-old was proud of himself for making the fight and then hanging on for eight rounds with the KO artist despite losing a unanimous decision.
Paul and his team were forced to comment on the integrity of the fight soon after, when fans again began claiming that he and his team had 'rigged' the fight, highlighting moments when Tyson appeared to pull his punches.
Now, almost a month after his historic comeback, Tyson has admitted he doesn't actually remember much from his fight against the 27-year-old, sparking renewed concern among fans.
“I don't remember the fight very well, I kind of fainted,” Tyson admitted in an interview with Fox Sports Radio.
“I remember coming back from the first round and Jake was flexing, and that's the last thing I remember,” he continued.
Additionally, at a pop-up event in Miami, Tyson told 7News that he felt like the eight rounds went by extremely quickly, in response to criticism that he looked tired after three rounds.
“Magically it happened so quickly. Eight rounds passed quickly. I wasn't tired. I didn't sweat. I didn't understand that,” he said.
Mike Tyson's son comments on his controversial fight against Jake Paul
Although Tyson has caused more concern among the fanbase after admitting he doesn't remember anything from the first round, he has once again stated that 'the sky is the limit' and that he doesn't yet know if he will retire for good to go.
Despite this, Mike Tyson Jr. optimistically claimed that because Tyson's wife has said he's 'done for good', the 58-year-old will finally hang up the gloves.
'I think he's ready. My stepmom, she says he's done and they're a team. That's husband and wife stuff,” Tyson Jr. shared. to Second Out.
Tyson's son has also responded to fans' claims that the fight was 'rigged' and that Tyson was paid to lose the fight on purpose.
'We know it has not been tampered with. He just got tired. Jake would hit the road. It looked like he was pulling back on his punches, but Jake moves. It's not like the pads, it moves.
“If someone doesn't want to accept that someone has lost, if things don't go that way, of course they will withdraw it. And that's what they put on the internet. His gas tank after the third round was just shot. That's it. He did the best he could at his age,” he finished.
