Trent Alexander-Arnold makes Liverpool contract promise ahead of Real Madrid decision

Trent Alexander-Arnold has given a cryptic hint about his plans for 2025, ahead of key contract talks at Liverpool.

Alexander-Arnold is out of contract with Liverpool at the end of the current season and negotiations for an extension are ongoing.

Despite Arne Slot's confidence about keeping the defender, the England international effectively has two choices: sign a five-year extension on Merseyside, or accept a new challenge at Real Madrid.

The latest update indicates that Real Madrid are confident of formalizing the deal in January, but all parties are still in discussions.

Alexander-Arnold made a rare public comment about his plans this weekend, with no announcement on the saga expected until early 2025.

“I've been at the club for 20 years now, I've signed four or five contract extensions and none of them have played out in public. And this one won't be either,” he said in an interview with Sky Sports.

The situation appears to be in balance, with Liverpool also working on extensions for Mohamed Salah and captain Virgil van Dijk, but news on all three has not been confirmed at this stage.
