Barcelona assistant boss Marcus Sorg called on the team to respond to the demands of playing multiple matches.
The Catalan giants are balancing La Liga and the UEFA Champions League this season with an average of one match every three to four days.
A 1-0 home defeat to Leganes saw their league title lead reduced to goal difference over second-placed Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona's decline in domestic form is a growing concern, with just one league win in their last six home games, and they take on Los Rojiblancos on December 21 in their final league match of 2024.
Sorg filled in on the touchline for Barcelona, with Hansi Flick starting his two-match dugout ban, and the German coach admitted their resilience needs improvement.
“Even though we didn't play a good game, we had twenty chances, but we didn't score. It is difficult to win this way,” said Marca.
“We have to learn from this. We have played many demanding matches in a few days and the team is not used to it. We have to work on it.”
If Barcelona beat Atletico Madrid at home they will retain top spot at the start of 2025, but with less Real Madrid could overtake them if they beat Sevilla.
