Højlund hit back at Kyle Walker on Instagram for the City defender's diving
In the 39th minute, Walker collided with Højlund. After a brief confrontation, Walker fell to the ground theatrically and the referee booked both players.
Manchester City took a 1-0 lead in the first half when Gvardiol headed home after an assist from De Bruyne. Meanwhile, Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes missed a one-on-one chance with his chip narrowly missing the target.
United gradually regained their rhythm in the second half. In the 85th minute, Amad won a penalty after being fouled by Nunes in the penalty area, and Fernandes converted to level the score. In the 90th minute, Amad stepped up again to seal the victory for United with a brilliant strike.
Højlund's first two lines were originally taken from a love poem:
Roses are red
Violets are blue,
Sugar is sweet
And you too.
