Jiří Procházka superfan copies former UFC champ’s iconic haircut just before cancer treatment

One of former UFC champion Jiří Procházka's biggest fans imitated his famous fight night hairstyle as she battles cancer and the challenges of chemotherapy.

Jiří Procházka is one of the most unique characters in UFC history with his unorthodox style, samurai persona and questionable training methods. The former defending champion has made himself a household name worldwide despite only a handful of fights in the Octagon.

Procházka will return next month at UFC 311 in a potential No. 1 fight. Prior to his comeback, he spent time in Mexico City training at the UFC's brand new Performance Institute in the region.

Procházka is a heroic figure in his native Czech Republic. His UFC title win over Glover Teixeira at UFC 275 helped put the country on the combat sports map after he won the title in just his third promotional appearance.

Prochazka's success has created a loyal group of fans around the world. One of these is a cancer patient who decided to commemorate his iconic hairstyle as she prepared for chemotherapy.

Jiří Procházka inspires superfan to put on his hairstyle during cancer treatment

In a recent post on the UFC's Reddit page, user Butterfiy105 shared how Procházka is part of her battle against cancer.

“Lost my hair due to chemo – not before celebrating my favorite UFC fighter!” she posted.

As of this writing, Procházka has not responded to the fan as he prepares to return to the Octagon at UFC 311. Since the original post, no health update has been shared regarding her treatment and battle with cancer.

The fan's nod to Procházka comes just hours after UFC's Stuart Scott “Fight Like Hell” event at UFC Tampa. ESPN and the UFC teamed up to honor Scott, a broadcaster who died of cancer in 2015, and raise money and awareness for cancer research.

Meanwhile, Procházka will face former titleholder Jamahal Hill in a pivotal UFC 311 main card fight on January 18 in Los Angeles. He and Hill have been trading barbs in recent weeks ahead of their light heavyweight matchup.

This will be Procházka's first Octagon appearance since a knockout loss to Alex Pereira at UFC 303. An impressive win over Pereira could potentially move Procházka one step closer to making the case for a third fight with the champion.

Procházka has picked up wins over former title challengers Dominick Reyes and Volkan Oezdemir during his UFC stint. He became the UFC's first-ever Czech champion when he rallied to finish Teixeira at UFC 275.

As Procházka prepares for his next UFC fight, he is in the heart and mind of a loyal fan in the fight of her life. Athletes like Procházka continue to inspire many around the world to overcome trials in and out of the cage.
