Man United ‘scout Greek wonderkid’, 17, after impressing for Olympiacos…

Manchester United are reportedly scouting Olympiacos teenage striker Charalampos Kostoulas ahead of the January transfer window.

Kostoulas is considered the next big talent to emerge from Greece, following his impressive performances for the Under-19s last season and his promotion to the first team this season.

The 17-year-old's performances have not gone unnoticed and United registered their interest last week, according to The Sun.

The Red Devils sent scouts to watch Kostoulas during Olympiacos' 0-0 draw against Twente in the Europa League last Thursday.

They will face competition to sign the teenager, with local media reporting that Bayern Munich, Juventus, Fiorentina and Borussia Monchengladbach are all also monitoring the player.

It is said that all those clubs except Bayern have sent representatives to watch the Greece Under-21 international.

Kostoulas shone during the stalemate with Twente and even won a penalty that Ayoub El Kaabi missed.

He has scored two goals and registered one assist in 10 appearances so far this season and those close to the striker want him to enjoy the off-season without distractions.

Kostoulas is versatile and can play through the middle, either on the wings or behind the striker.

He was part of Olympiacos that won the UEFA Youth League last season after beating AC Milan 3-0 in the final.

The youngster scored five goals and had two assists in eight games in the league.

A move to United would see him become the latest young striker to join the club, joining the likes of Rasmus Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee and Chido Obi-Martin who have all moved to Old Trafford in the past 18 months.
