Harry Maguire says he is having “positive” discussions with Manchester United about extending his contract at Old Trafford.
The defender, who joined Man Utd from Leicester City in 2019, is in the final year of his existing contract with the Red Devils.
Maguire has only started five Premier League games this season, although he played the full 90 minutes of Sunday's derby win over Manchester City.
The 31-year-old is optimistic about the prospect of extending his stay at the club.
“I haven't really thought about it yet,” he said. “I still have this year to go with an option in their hands.
“But all the signs are positive at the moment and the conversation I'm having is really positive.”

Maguire also touched on the impact of Ruben Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford dugout last month.
The centre-back believes the Red Devils have made a statement with their dramatic 2-1 win over City and hopes it will serve as a springboard.
“I think you can see that we have a good structure, a good playing style and the way he wants us to work,” he added.
“He's very good tactically. He's proven he's a winner. We're still quite new. I think he's been here for about a month now, and we're really looking forward to where we can go and where we can take this to take.” club, and I'm sure he will take it in a positive way.
“Obviously we've had back-to-back defeats in the Premier League [against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest]So to come to City and make a statement is very important for our confidence and belief in where we are going and where Ruben is going to take us.”
