PSG respond to Marcus Rashford swap deal proposal after Man United bombshell

Paris Saint-Germain have cooled their interest in Marcus Rashford, but he is ready to leave Manchester United.

Rashford, 27, has revealed he is keen for a 'new challenge' less than a month after the appointment of new manager Ruben Amorim. United boss Amorim left Rashford out of his squad to face Manchester City on Sunday, with the Red Devils coming out 2-1 winners thanks to a late turnaround.

The attacker's future is in the spotlight, but not for the first time. PSG have been heavily linked with a move for Rashford in 2022, although the French champions appear less interested – and certainly not in a swap deal.

Recently there have been suggestions that United could transfer Rashford to PSG in exchange for out-of-favour striker Randal Kolo Muani, who was tipped for a move to Old Trafford last year. Kolo Muani had just completed a brilliant season with German side Eintracht Frankfurt and represented France at the World Cup.

But the Daily Mail reports that claims of a swap deal involving Rashford and Kolo Muani are way off the mark. The 26-year-old is under contract with PSG until 2028, after being signed for an initial €75 million.

However, his future in Paris looks bleak as he last started a match on October 6 and was left out of the squad entirely against Lyon this weekend.

On Tuesday, PSG manager Luis Enrique, asked about Kolo Muani's continued absence, said: “I could talk about it, but I won't because my decisions say everything, even if, as I said, all my decisions can be changed .” .”

Rashford could also move in January, telling Henry Winter during a Christmas visit to his old primary school, Button Lane: “For me personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps. If I leave it will 'none hard feelings'. You won't get any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That's me as a person.

“If I know a situation is already bad, I'm not going to make it worse. I've seen other players leave in the past and I don't want to be that person. If I leave, I will make sure an explanation and it will be mine.”
