Sunday's win over Manchester City gave Ruben Amorim a welcome boost after a difficult start to his reign at Manchester United.
Amorim struggled to turn around the Red Devils' fortunes after replacing Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford dugout. The January transfer window offers the perfect opportunity for Amorim to strengthen his squad.
But with two weeks to go before the doors open, Amorim has already been dealt a major blow. One of his top targets has made it clear he will not move to Old Trafford as United are forced to explore alternatives.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils have also been told that they expect to make a big loss on the sale of Antony, who is expected to leave next month. Here, Mirror Football collects all the latest Manchester United transfer news.
Rashford learns fate
Marcus Rashford has been told he will leave Manchester United. The forward was left out of the squad for Sunday's derby win over Manchester City and Jamie Carragher believes a move away from Old Trafford is 'inevitable'.
“We're not talking about a world-famous superstar here. I actually think we talk too much about Marcus Rashford, if I'm completely honest. He's a good player, he's not a great player, he's been a very good player.” for Manchester United,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“It's time for him to leave the club, but whether there will ever be buyers with the wages the boy is getting and things like that, who knows. I just think a parting of the ways is inevitable at some point, and I think for Manchester United and Rashford, the sooner that comes, the better.”
Huge Antony loss predicted
Manchester United have been told to expect a loss of £70 million if they sell Antony in January. The winger looks set to leave after a miserable spell with the Red Devils and Chris Sutton believes it will be difficult to recoup the huge fee they paid for him.
“It's a great, great point. I had forgotten him. Me, too. And to be honest, who would he go for, I mean, how much would he go for? What did he come for?,” said former Premier League title winner Sutton.
“Was it £85? £80, £80 million. How much could they, he would devalue more than me in a year at Chelsea. I mean, 80. What would they, seriously, what would they get for Anthony now? £10 million? ”
Target slaps Amorim
Juventus star Kenan Yildiz has insisted he is happy with life in Italy amid links with a move to United. The Turkish star has impressed for Juve and caught the eye of the Red Devils, although he now claims he has no plans to leave Turin.
“I am happy at Juventus! Next year? I see myself coming here to fight for more titles as a Juventus player. I feel very comfortable here,” Yildiz said.
“It's a beautiful and serene city, and the people are friendly and respectful. I can walk through the city center without any problems. Of course, sometimes I get stopped for an autograph or a photo, but it's nice.”
