Salah, Palmer and Saka all analysed to determine the best one in the top-flight

Liverpool's talisman who continues to defy age, Chelsea's rising superstar in west London or the ever-present Arsenal on the right wing?

Mohamed Salah, Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka are three great talents currently shining the spotlight at the top of English football, but who is the best?

Comparisons are easy to make given the similar spaces on the right wing that each player occupies while in action, although determining which of the three takes the top spot is no small feat.

Here, Sky Sports takes a statistical dive into each of the three players in an attempt to make the decision easier for you, the reader.

Saka starring in North London

Saka has the lowest number of goals and assists of the three but has found consistent form at Arsenal, who have struggled in front of goal at times this season.

Arsenal have the lowest score of the three teams with 28 goals, compared to Chelsea's 37, the highest in the division, and Liverpool's total of 31.

Despite this, Saka has registered a goal or assist in nine of his 15 Premier League appearances, including dominant displays against West Ham and Southampton.

He continues to grow in importance at the Emirates Stadium by the day and it is no surprise that he currently leads the league with ten assists.

It's an impressive figure that could be even better considering no player has created more big chances than his 19 and his teammate Kai Havertz is currently in the top 10 for missed big chances with eight.

Productive Palmer

Palmer's rise has been astronomical since leaving the Etihad Stadium for Stamford Bridge on Deadline Day last year and he has now established himself as one of the best players in the league.

Twenty-two goals and eleven assists were a dazzling return in his first season at the club, and this form has carried over into the current campaign.

With 11 goals and six assists to his name already, the 22-year-old is just behind Salah in terms of goal involvement in 2024/25.

He is known for his impeccable record from the spot – having scored all 12 penalties so far – but his ability from 12 yards has only supported his strong performances in open play.

No player of the three has scored more in these situations than Palmer in 2024 and the creativity he offers Chelsea is highlighted by his teammate Nicolas Jackson, who is also on the same mark.

With more freedom than his counterparts on the right wing, Palmer holds the keys to Chelsea and it's clear why.

Salah turns back the years

In steps the most experienced of the three. Salah's talents in front of goal have been on full display in the Premier League since his arrival in 2017 and his powers have not diminished despite turning 32.

He is currently level with Erling Haaland in the race to secure his fourth golden boot in England with 13 goals already – not to mention the nine assists he has to provide alongside him.

The Egyptian striker is currently involved in a goal every 59 minutes on average, which is his best return since completing the move to Anfield.

This impressive form now means that thirteen goals have been scored from open play in the calendar year, nine of which have been scored since Arne Slot took charge of Liverpool this season.

If Salah is here to stay, goals will inevitably follow.
