Liverpool are the dominant force in both the Premier League and Champions League, but that doesn't mean they can't improve.
Arne Slot's Reds sit comfortably at the top of both tables after a relatively quiet summer transfer window. Following the departure of Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool have made just two signings, one of which will only join the squad next season – the Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili – and one who has hardly played, the Italian winger Federico Chiesa.
But January could look very different, especially as the uncertain futures of out-of-contract stars Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold start to look more solid. Alexander-Arnold has been linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, but it seems more likely that Salah and Van Dijk will extend their deals.
Here's a round-up of the latest transfer news from Anfield.
Robinson drops Fulham exit hint
Liverpool goalkeeper Antonee Robinson has been rumored to have revealed he is open to a move away from Fulham in the January transfer window. Robinson, 27, is enjoying another impressive season for the Cottagers and is being tipped as Andy Robertson's long-term replacement at left-back.
Speaking to Marca, the England-born US international said: “I'm very happy here. The fact that there is interest from other teams is great. Obviously it all comes down to whether someone wants me enough to pay what Fulham would like.” So if the club thinks it's a good idea, I would leave.”
Gravenberch for Tchouameni claims about exchange agreement quashed
It seems unlikely that a swap deal between Ryan Gravenberch and Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni will happen in January. The 22-year-old Gravenberch has impressed during the first half of the season, leading to speculation that he could move to Madrid.
It was claimed that former Liverpool target Aurelien Tchouameni would come the other way as he was heavily linked with a move to Anfield in 2022. But Sky Germany reports that Dutch midfielder Gravenberch is not considering leaving, with his focus firmly on the Reds.
Yildiz discusses the links between Liverpool and Man Utd
Juventus wonderkid Kenan Yildiz has poured cold water on speculation he could join Liverpool or Manchester United next season. Yildiz, 19, had made a steady start at Juve under new boss Thiago Motta.
And the Turkish winger, who has scored three goals in sixteen Serie A goals, is not considering leaving. “I am happy at Juventus,” said Yildiz. “Next year? I see myself here as a Juventus player fighting for more titles.”
