‘He’s locked in’… Logan Paul’s best friend provides Conor McGregor fight update after UFC legend claimed he has agreed to boxing match

Mike Majlak, a key part of Logan Paul's inner circle, updated fight fans on the Conor McGregor boxing match rumors.

Logan Paul and Conor McGregor could potentially face each other in the boxing ring next year. After McGregor turned down fighting UFC champion Ilia Topuria in favor of fighting Paul in the ring, speculation about the out-of-nowhere bout immediately increased.

Paul appeared to acknowledge the fight talk in a recent social media post, paying tribute to one of McGregor's signature lines during a WWE promo. But at the time of writing, he has neither confirmed nor denied that preliminary talks are taking place over a fight with McGregor.

Amid McGregor and Paul's recent tweets, confusion has skyrocketed online over the two polarizing athletes. In an attempt to shed some light on the matter, Paul's best friend gave insight into what's going on with McGregor and a possible return to boxing.

Mike Majlak talks about Logan Paul vs. Conor McGregor fight talks

In a recent interview with Daily Mail Sport, Mike Majlak gave insight into the Paul-McGregor feud rumors.

'As I understand it, there [were] conversations about it a while ago,” Majlak said of Paul vs. McGregor. 'I don't know if Conor just woke up in Ibiza or something and decided he wanted to talk about it today. Last I heard there were no updates so I don't know if he's just crazy and just talking about it.

“But Logan just had a kid, he's incarcerated, he's a girl daddy,” Majlak continued. “Unless there's something I haven't heard yet, which is entirely possible, I don't know what Conor is talking about. But I will say this: whatever happens, I think the boxing world would love to see it. We are talking about two controversial personalities. One loved, the other hated. Two countries, with different fighting disciplines. The world is watching that battle. It's another Mike Tyson/Jake Paul. I want to see it happen.”

The rumors between Paul and McGregor come just weeks after Logan's brother, Jake, defeated heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson in the ring. Although Logan and Jake have teased a fight between brothers, it appears they are going different routes, especially with the ongoing McGregor debacle.

If Paul returns to the ring against McGregor, it will be his toughest test in boxing, despite McGregor having only one previous boxing fight. McGregor lost to Boxing Hall Famer Floyd Mayweather Jr. in their 2017 “Money Fight” crossover matchup.

Conversations between Logan Paul and Conor McGregor add to a wild year in combat sports

In addition to the Paul fight talks, McGregor is also planning an eventful return to the UFC Octagon for the first time since 2021. He is expected to return in late 2025, according to UFC CEO Dana White, and Michael Chandler remains his likely next opponent. .

Besides Paul vs. There's also the fact that Paul defeated McGregor's old teammate, Dillon Danis, in his final boxing match last year. He hasn't competed since the Danis fight as he remains focused on his WWE career.

Be that as it may, Majlak's comments show that Paul vs. McGregor may have been in the works for months, although there is no talk of a fight yet. We can find out more about the possible boxing booking when the new year arrives.
