Las Palmas have enjoyed an excellent revival of form since Diego Martinez took over as head coach, and one player who has stood out during this period is midfielder Dario Essugo. The 19-year-old, who joined on loan from Sporting CP this summer, has impressed and as a result, suitors are starting to pile up.
Essugo is expected to return to Sporting at the end of the season, although he could return to La Liga for the 2025/26 season (and beyond). As reported by La Provincia, Real Madrid and Barcelona are both monitoring the Portuguese teenager, who has a €45 million release clause.
For Barcelona, Essugo would not be a top priority signing as they already have several options in midfield available for Hansi Flick. However, Real Madrid could see him as a much-needed asset as they need to sign someone who can act as a replacement for Toni Kroos, who left the club last summer.
