‘A champion in life’… Alex Pereira sends inspirational message to teammates ahead of UFC 313

Alex Pereira has made his combat team an emotional explanation about how they can become champions – whether they will ever win a world title.

Light-heavy weight champion Pereira has won world titles at two weight classes in the UFC, and picking up glorial championships during his kickboxing day. However, he regards a champion as something that can be done as much outside the cage as in it.

With days to deal with his last light-heavyweight title defense against Magomed Ankalaev on UFC 313, he gave a speech in his gym. There he explained to his teammates how he could become champions at an emotional moment that is caught on the camera.

One of the biggest victories of Alex Pereira's life was not in the Ocagton, but against his struggle with alcohol. He explained his team during a recent video on the YouTube channel of the UFC that although even a pro -hunter can be the most removed, they can still be champions.

“The dream of being a hunter, making a living from fighting or being champion? As a glover [Texeira] Says, that's not for everyone, “he explained. “Unfortunately, that's how it works. But if you can't be a champion as a hunter, you can be a champion in life.

“You can become a better person, a better father, a better mother, a better brother. This is also important. I'm sure if I wasn't the best champion today, I changed my life. I stopped drinking after four years of training.

“I have already won, that is a victory and it makes me a champion in life. That's it. Thank you for everything, thanks for the motivation. Chama. “

Alex Pereira was able to wipe out his division with UFC 313 Win

A victory on Saturday night at Magomed Ankalaev would complete an intensive 11 months for Pereira who will have seen him defend his belt four times. He has cleared almost the entire top five, except for his next challenger and needs something new if he wins it.

There have been calls for Pereira to go upstairs to pursue a fight with Jon Jones for an unprecedented third world title. However, this seems unlikely if the UFC pushes a fight between Jones and interim champion Tom Aspinall.

Another option can be a switch to the boxing ring, where callouts by Jake Paul and Oleksandr Usyk are tempting for the UFC champion.
