Ruud van Nistorelrooy has praised Jamie Vardy as a “big” after he had canceled with his 200th goal for Leicester City in a 2-0 win over the city of Ipswich.
Vardy was celebrated prior to the kick-off at the King Power Stadium and marked his 500th Leicester performance in all competitions with a 28-minute goal to lead them.

Earlier this week it was confirmed that this would be the last game of Vardy, instead of their journey to Bournemouth on the last day, and Van Nistelrooy praised his captain after his farewell.
“If you score your 200th goal on your 500th performance, then you are great,” he told Premier League Productions.
“He has been a unique player and person for this football club. In the coming years we will realize that we were part of the moment.
“He is also a character, there is a story and a lead for him. He is also a great captain.
“We were motivated to do well for Jamie, but also to get more momentum after the victory of Southampton and the point against Nottingham Forest. They are some positive points towards the end of the season.”
On the field after the last whistle, Vardy de Leicester fans spoke for the last time.
“I enjoyed this,” he said. “I look forward to keeping an eye on the club I love. They are in my heart.
“From the ground of my heart, thank you for experiencing myself and my family as yours. I hope I have paid you back.”

Leif Davies hit the post early and had not allowed a late goal for offside while they had trouble breaking down the foxes, and Jack Taylor believes that this competition summarizes the season of Ipswich as a whole.
“I think we have shown some good things on the ball, but as so often this year there have been times that have gone against us,” he said.
“It is a difficult thing to take, but it is more about looking at the future and coming back for the preseason.
“We had so many chances. I think it was 20, said the boss. It is up to us to take responsibility for that, not to take our chances or to make the right decisions at the last minute.
“We have made enough, so we have to look back on it and try to improve.”
