‘A treasure’… Ex-UFC star receives high praise after making color commentary debut on Dana White’s Contender Series

A former UFC hunter took a big step in the Apex in Las Vegas on Tuesday evening.

The first episode of this year of the Contender Series by Dana White did not meet expectations last week.

This was not the case in week two, where five contracts were handed out to each of the winners, with some impressive finishes and versions that were introduced.

Although it was perhaps Josh Hokit who attracted a lot of attention with his daring comments, some fans chose to concentrate on a former UFC hunter who has been a consistent presence in the promotion for a while.

Fans praise Din Thomas after he makes his color commentary debut at the UFC Apex

For a long time UFC fans have become accustomed to hear the voice of Din Thomas who are in the event during the event broadcasts.

The Nine-Vecht UFC veteran fought the will of BJ Penn, Matt Serra and Jeremy Stephens in the Octagon before they become a coach.

Before he started his own team, Thomas was one of the most important coaches at the American top team where he collaborated with Amanda Nunes, Tyron Woodley and Dustin Poirier.

The 48-year-old has become an analyst for the promotion, in which the comment team often throws during the fighting, so that he can give some insight into what happens in the Octagon.

On Tuesday evening, Thomas had the opportunity to make his color commentary, together with Dan Hellie and Daniel Cormier.

Although, as always, some fans had complaints, the majority of reactions to his full comment debut were positive.

“Shout at Din Thomas, by the way,” wrote MMA Fighting's Mike Heck on X. “The man has recovered on the DWCS broadcast tonight. You could see that he was buried and did his homework. Really enjoyed him in that role. '

Various reviews were posted under the explanation of Heck, with praise also from elsewhere.

'I can't lie, I need him and [Laura] Sanko couples on a normal broadcast. '

“Din is a treasure.”

“Love Din Thomas already commented.”

“Din Thomas >>> Joe Rogan.”

'Shout at Din Thomas on #DWCSWeek2 tonight! Always needed more of his input on fighting cards and this was a great step, albeit temporary. '

Din Thomas led to a debate with his comments about Khamzat Chimaev

Before UFC 319, Din Thomas made a big claim about the impact that Khamzat Chimaev would become the middleweight champion.

Although 'Borz' is one of the biggest stars on the Roster, Thomas said during an episode of the Bohnfire podcast that he believed that Chimaev would win would be a “disaster”.

'You can't tell me that some of you think: “This fight can't really happen. '… Some of these guys are simply common in terms of not getting the dance.

“If he pops up and he wins, do we trust that he can fight again?”

Fortunately for the fans, it seems that Chimaev is planning to come back there earlier instead of later, because they have shown interest to fight the Abu Dhabi card in October.
