An abandoned stadium that was set to organize Euro 2028 competitions has been given a huge boost about his future.
The most important tournament would be organized by the Republic of Ireland and the four home countries of England, Scotland, Wales and Noord -Ireland.
The Belfast Openputspark was initially selected as one of the stadiums to organize games in the midst of plans to rebuild the land into a capacity of 34,000.
But since then it has been collected from Euro 2028 due to financing problems and Noord -Iierland will no longer be a host country.
Nevertheless, the redevelopment of Casement Park is still going on and the government has confirmed that they make a contribution of £ 50 million to the project.
But there is still a shortage of £ 90 million because Stormont Chiefs and the Gaelic Athletic Association can only find £ 120 million of the required £ 260 million.
The financial Minister of Finance of Noord -Ireland, John O'Dowd, welcomed the government's support and encouraged everyone to “work together now” to have the stadium built.
Casement Park was closed in 2013 and has since been abandoned.
Incredible photos show the positions that rot and overgrown the field.
The land welcomed 31,000 supporters back in his splendor and peam for swinging and Gaelic football matches.
The abandoned site has received a building permit to be modernized and the early demolition work has begun.
But some have called for the proposed design to be extracted to make a cheaper build.
Northern Ireland is currently playing their home games in Windsor Park of 18,500 seats.
UEFA needs all grounds for major tournaments to keep 30,000 fans.
The Irish FA has excluded that Windsor Park expanded.
