Milan lost 1-0 on Wednesday evening with Dan Ndoye who scored the winner of Bologna.
During the last whistle, Furlani admitted: “I first wish to congratulate Bologna on this historical achievement for the club and the city.
“After that I cannot deny that this is a failure of a season. Despite winning the Supercoppa, we are still far away where we wanted to be.
“Now there are two more games to play, we will try to end the season in the best possible way, even if we are far from the goals we had set at the start of the campaign.
“We share the disappointment of our fans, I as a supporter and now as a director must admit that different mistakes have been made. We have to continue, correct and go back to where we should be.”
Make decisions
Milan is now eighth on the Serie A table, with the Europa Conference League qualification in question.
Asked for major changes this summer, Furlani added: “At the moment there is a huge disappointment for this competition, a trophy that we could have won. I don't feel ready to answer this question now.
“There are still 12 days to go in the season and two games, then we will make and see some decisions.”
