AC Milan ponder Rashford loan swoop as Man Utd make feelings clear on move

AC Milan are considering making a loan offer for Manchester United star Marcus Rashford.

Rashford has made it clear he feels ready for a new challenge after struggling in the last two seasons. After being left out of the Manchester derby squad due to his poor performance in training, Rashford gave an impressive interview in which he made it clear he wanted to leave.

That led to boss Ruben Amorim banning him, with United willing to sanction a sale for the England star. He has since been reinstated in the Amorim squad, although he missed the draw against Liverpool due to illness.

His return coincided with the opening of the January transfer window. Clubs are now investigating Rashford's status, with Milan emerging as a serious contender to give him a breakout opportunity.

According to the Daily Mail, the Serie A team is working on a loan for the attacker. Milan has had a difficult season, but is recovering under new boss Sérgio Conceição.

It is believed that Rashford is keen to stay in Europe having turned down the chance to make a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia. But there are several hurdles Milan will have to overcome to sign him.

The first is that United will ideally want to secure a transfer fee of £40 million for the 27-year-old. His wage demands could also be difficult to overcome, with Rashforrd currently earning £325,000 a week.

United would be willing to agree to a loan like the one Milan are interested in, but only if the deal includes an obligation to buy. Amorim made it clear on Christmas Eve that Rashford would have to maintain his standards if he wants to play.

“If I feel this is the right time, I will make a change until then. I will continue to think about what is best for the team. I talk to him every day, not about the interview but about the performance,” said Amorim.

“It's my decision. He wants to play. He's trying. It's my decision, only my decision. I try to do things my way. And it's the only way I know if I don't, I will lose myself.” and I will not lose myself. I know what I'm doing.

“If you have great talents, great achievements, great responsibility and great commitment, then push everyone forward at this time. And some guys have a great responsibility here because they have been here a long time.

“So this might be one of the lowest moments in our club. So we have to face it and be strong at this moment. That's what I want for every player in the team. Everyone in Carrington knows what I'm talking about and what I want from Mark and all the others.”
