AC Milan want to sign Marcus Rashford on loan with an option to buy

AC Milan wants to loan Marcus Rashford from Manchester United with an option to buy, according to Sky in Italy.

The Serie A side have made Rashford their main target in the January transfer window.

Sky Sports News reports that Borussia Dortmund and Juventus are also interested in the 27-year-old.

Rashford is one of the candidates being watched by clubs across Europe after expressing his desire for a new challenge last month.

There is acceptance. January is a difficult time to get big things done and an immediate loan for Rashford cannot be ruled out.

Milan would only be able to provide a loan – and United would have to pay a large part of his wages, with his salary also being a major obstacle for Milan to take out a loan.

United are yet to receive an official offer for Rashford, while United head coach Ruben Amorim has said it is up to Rashford to force his way back into first-team reckoning.

All options apparently remain open. Ideally for United, Rashford gets back on track and performs well for the team, which would likely increase his value if the club decide to sell him in the summer.

While a loan – and paying part wages – isn't ideal, United can point to the benefit such a move had on Jadon Sancho's value last season.

Zirkzee is not interested in leaving due to the interest in Serie A

Latest news from Kaveh Solhekol, chief reporter of Sky Sports News:

Joshua Zirkzee has no interest in leaving United.

He loves the club and is determined to prove himself in the Premier League.

The player's camp has received multiple approaches about a move.

Juventus, Napoli, Inter and Milan – and several Premier League clubs – want the player.

They've all been told he's not going anywhere.

Juve wants to go on loan and is managed by Thiago Motta, under whom Zirkzee played at his last club.

It is unlikely that United would consider a loan; Zirkzee has played in every matchday squad under Amorim and the head coach says he wants to keep him.

“I want to keep Josh because he gives everything,” Amorim said. “He's trying in training, but we don't know, the window is open. We'll see what happens.”

Bruno Fernandes, meanwhile, said the United players believe in Zirkzee during a challenging period for the 23-year-old, who was jeered by some United fans in the first half against Newcastle last month.

“I was in the stands [against Newcastle] I have never seen anything like this and it frustrates and irritates me a lot because he is a player who always gives everything,” said Fernandes.

“As a player who comes into the team from another league, he needs time to adapt, but he has enormous qualities.

“He hasn't shown all the quality, but it can't be that from the first game of the season everyone hyped him as one of the best strikers and now everyone doesn't believe in him anymore.

“We believe in him in the dressing room. I would rather be myself in this position against Newcastle and not see one of my teammates in that position.”

Man Utd are making plans for the summer

Meanwhile, it is understood that United are keeping tabs on Paris Saint-Germain's Nuno Mendes.

The left wing area has been a major problem for United due to the injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

Mendes has entered the final eighteen months of his contract and talks over a new deal have so far failed to lead to a resolution.

However, United have completed a deal to sign Paraguayan left-back Diego Leon from Cerro Porteno.

He would join in the summer as he doesn't turn 18 until April. It is believed that the player will arrive in Manchester soon for medical treatment.

Who could stay and who could go?

Sky Sports News reported earlier this month that United will listen to offers for Rashford, along with a number of other first-team players.

A number of clubs – including from Spain and Greece – have contacted United about a possible loan for winger Antony.

Sky Sports News understands United will consider offers for the player.

Antony joined from Ajax for £82m in the summer of 2022 but has yet to start a Premier League game this season

Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton are all out of contract next summer. This month's offers will be considered, otherwise they will remain and be part of the selection.

Casemiro could also leave if a good offer comes in, with Saudi clubs showing renewed interest.

United have activated the one-year option on Maguire's contract, while a new deal for Amad Diallo is close.
