A Chelsea star has revealed that he once spent £ 5,000 on a trading card from Erling Haaland.
Haaland has been a revelation since he joined the Premier League almost three years ago, so far 84 goals for Manchester City scored in the top flight and winning two Premier League titles.
He also won the Champions League, recorded in his Treble -victory in his first year in City, while taking the Golden Boot home in his first two years – although he would apparently miss this period.
Every year, meanwhile, different map companies, including tops, publish trade cards with players from the Premier League and Europe, while other cards are also regularly brought forward from the world of Formula 1 and Star Wars.
Two specific Premier League stars – which occur on collectable maps themselves – have revealed that they are enthusiastic collectors and are willing to spend large on cards.
And it is no difference when it comes to paying large for cards with rivals for one blues player – in the form of Tosin Adarabioyo.
“It can be expensive,” said Adarabioyo in the last episode of Rio Ferdinand Presents. 'Five Grand [£5,000] On one card. It was one [Topps] Erling Haaland Gold Card.
'I used to gathered back on the day when I was young and it was clearly the sticker albums for world cups and euros. Everyone likes that, it has that nostalgic feeling.
'And again after Covid I started collecting again. Some of my friends said I had to look at it, so I looked and I just got that bug that you do with some things and I just really enjoyed collecting. '
Adarabioyo, in addition to Spurs' Dominic Solanke, spoke with Ferdinand at the opening of Fanatics Collectibles New Flagship Store in Regent Street, London.
The store is now open to the public after a week of opening celebrations with Ferdinand, Adarabioyo and Solanke, while Lewis Hamilton and many more stars from the sports world were present.
One of Hamilton's cards is worth £ 1.1 million – a happy bidder can pick it up soon, but that is a step too far for Adarabioyo, he admitted.
“I would never drop such a money on a card, but to be honest, the value in some of these cards is insane,” he said. 'I like to tear boxes open and to know that there is a possibility that you can open a box and get a card worth £ 1.1 million is insane.
“It is life -changing money and has a great value and that is one of the amazing things of this hobby.”
