Mexican Wonderkid Gilberto Mora has been associated with a move to Real Madrid in his home country, and now his agent Rafaela Pimenta has tackled that speculation. Barcelona is also credited with interest in Mora.
It would be no surprise if both Mora were looking closely, given his progress. The 16-year-old became the youngest player to make his debut in Liga MX at the age of 15, and then the youngest player to win an international tournament as part of Javier Aguirre's Gold Cup-winning Mexico team last summer. Los Blancos has been cited as interested in him, although there have been conflicting reports that say they have not asked him.
Speaking with El Chiringuito, agent Rafaela Pimenta described, who has close relationships with Los Blancos and also represents Haaland as 'having no ceiling'. When asked that Real Madrid was linked to him, she had the following to say.
“Yes. It is normal for him to be linked to large teams, because he is very young and very strong. So we are going to hear a lot of thoughts, ideas about him and what will happen.”
“I prefer that he is going where he is happiest,” smiled Pimenta, when asked if she would rather be that he ends up in the Santiago Bernabeu.
Last September it was reported that Barcelona had offered a test to the Club Tijuana midfielder, but that did not flourish. In the meantime, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace are all an interest in Mora. Nobody will be able to bring him to Europe for at least 14 months when he turns 18.
Last season, Mora made 30 performances and became the youngest League MX scorer, and this year he went into force. Mora has managed five goals in nine trips.
