Agent confirms left-back prefers Real Madrid but admits ‘other options’ exist

Girona left back Miguel Gutierrez is one of the great successes of the time of Michel Sanchez in the club. Gutierrez signed for only € 5 million and has been one of the best left backs in Spain in the past two seasons, and a key figure in their very first European campaign and third place.

It is no surprise that he is strongly connected to a departure in the past year because of his form. Not in the last place to his former club Real Madrid, which this summer has a buyback option of € 9 million at Gutierrez, and a sold -out reimbursement of 50% for any movements of Montilivi. In an interview with Zona Mixta, as worn by MD, his agent Daniel Mendez confirmed that Los Blancos would be his priority no matter what.

“Real Madrid follows his deadlines; they do not hurry because it is April. They know that the moment they cancel their hand, everything will be decided. We would and would love Real Madrid to bring Miguel Gutierrez back. He has said it actively and passively, although it is not up to him.”

However, he explained that there will probably be other options for Gutierrez this summer.

“If he doesn't go to Madrid, we must also be happy, but we already know what his decision is. Whatever happens. If that is the option, then all the better, but if not, then there will be other options, and we should be happy with it. There has been no movement yet.

The 23-year-old has remained an important player for Girona this season and has even played an injury in recent weeks.

“The football player plays at an optimal level, even in the last few games when he played injured, and yet he wanted to give his team for his team, which speaks very high. He has a very high pain threshold and he wanted to continue. He did not jump and has been restored to play.”

The latest news about Gutierrez from a Real Madrid perspective is that they are planning to activate that clause this summer, but it is not clear whether that would be to sell him with a profit or to give him a place in the first team. Real Madrid started looking for a new left back this summer after missing Alphonso Davies, but it is not clear whether they will see Gutierrez as an important upgrade on Ferland Mendy or Fran Garcia. A number of clubs, including Liverpool, Arsenal and most recent Atletico Madrid have all been associated with Gutierrez during the season.
