Agent confirms new Barcelona deal for Lamine Yamal

Barcelona are already discovering how important Lamine Yamal is to their side at the age of 17, but the good news is that he will continue to play for a while. Agent Jorge Mendes confirmed this.

None of Barcelona's nominees will be present at the Golden Boy Awards evening in Turin, presented by Tuttosport, which Lamine Yamal will win. On the red carpet, Mendes explained that his injury wouldn't keep him out for long.

“It's something he'll recover from, and he'll be fine again soon.”

Barcelona announced on Monday afternoon that Lamine Yamal will be out for three to four weeks due to an ankle sprain, which will force him to miss this weekend's match against Atletico Madrid. Mendes was also asked whether Lamine Yamal would sign a new contract with the Blaugrana.

“Of course he will renew with Barcelona. Lamine is a Barcelona fan,” Mendes condemned.

His current contract expires in 2026. As an under-18 year old he could only sign a three-year contract, but he will come of age next summer. At that point, he will reportedly sign a new six-year contract with a €1 billion release clause, which has reportedly been agreed verbally.
