Barcelona and Real Madrid are the biggest predators in the food chain when it comes to picking up the best talents in Spain, and despite the RCD Mallorca that Marc Domenech retains last summer, look the Blaugrana look to call again. The 18-year-old attacker was highly rated in Spain and Barcelona tried to sign him last summer.
Domenech already attracted the attention last season after a successful season at the age of 19, and Sport says that Barcelona offered no less than € 500k for Domenech, but Mallorca demanded a fee of € 1.5 million to allow him to leave. Shortly thereafter he would donate a new five -year -old deal with Mallorca, which increased his release clause to € 4 million.
The Catalan says that Barcelona remains interested in Domenech on a daily basis, and that the 18-year-old attacker recently changed his representation in the office run by Pini Zahavi. Famous for bringing Robert Lewandowski and Hansi Flick to the Catalan giants, President Joan Laporta admitted that he has a close relationship with Zahavi, and this shift would increase his opportunities to land in Barcelona. It should be noted that Marca reported in January that Domenech also wanted to force a move to the Blaugrana.
The finances of the deal make it more likely and earlier than later. Domenech currently earns € 33k per year, and Sport says that the season after this, he will be a player in the first team as a result of the contract, earns € 300k per year and increases its release clause to € 10 million. That is why they will want to move this summer if they go.
This season Domenech has received his first taste of professional football by Mallorca manager Jagoba Arrasate, played his debut in August and played six times and collected 182 minutes. He spent most of the season with Mallorca B, where he has nine goals and three assists in 26 performances. All the above said, the case of Antonio Cordero, the Malaga Wonderkid who has to sign for Newcastle, is proof that the presence of Zahavi is not a guarantee for something for Barcelona.
